Yahoo! recently published an article addressing multiple lessons learned while in driving school. One of them called our attention, not because people really follow it because they learned it in driver's ed, but because it really could ensure your safety and save your face (literally).
When we were all learning how to drive, we were taught to hold the steering wheel at 10 and 2. Now, I've had instances where I'm fiddling around with something in my car while holding the steering wheel at 12 (top of the steering wheel). The Yahoo! article tells readers about a cop who was once doing the same, crashed, and had his hand flung back by the force of the airbag - right into his face. The officer broke all of his front teeth with his own hand. The new safe position to drive is 9 and 3 or even 8 and 4, and hand over hand turning is out as well. It can be very dangerous if you get caught up in an accident. When you're driving below 14mph, put your hands wherever you want, but going faster than 14mph is fast enough to deploy an airbag.
If you happen to get into an accident and your car is banged up enough to pay money to fix (we're not talking totalled here) bring into Lake Havasu Auto Detail and we'll make it look brand new.
